I work as a Juniorprofessor (∼ assistant professor) in Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems at Universität Hamburg.
Research
My research is in dynamical systems, with a particular emphasis on:
- Delay differential equations
- Network dynamical systems
and connections between these two topics. A central theme of my research is to develop tools and results that connect fundamental theory of dynamical systems to what is needed and used in applications.
Specific topics that I have worked on include:
- Feedback stabilisation of periodic orbits (Pyragas control), in particular on network dynamical systems and systems with `unconventional' symmetries.
- Approximation of delay equations, in particular pseudospectral approximation as a method for numerial bifurcation analysis of delay equations.
- Phase reduction as a tool to analyse oscillator behaviour in delay-coupled networks.
